Downbeat the Ruler (Tony Screw) & Shinehead (Kingston 12 Hi-Fi)
Witness a special tribute to a legendary professional relationship. Long before becoming an international recording star, Shinehead launched his career in the early 1980s as a resident deejay and lyricist for the legendary Downbeat the Ruler, led by the iconic Tony Screw. This reunion honors a partnership that helped shape Reggae and Dancehall history.
Sir Tommy
A true pioneer of New York City’s Reggae sound system movement. Sir Tommy helped connect Brooklyn to Kingston through unforgettable dances while building the influential Sir Tommy’s record label and recording studio, which introduced and produced many major dancehall artists during the 1980s.
Jah Wise
From carrying speaker boxes as a young “box boy” to becoming one of Reggae’s most respected selectors, Jah Wise earned his place as a star of Tippatone Hi-Fi. Renowned for his exceptional vinyl collection and unmatched musical knowledge, he remains one of the most respected figures on the Reggae circuit.
